In response to the ongoing flash floods, AFDAN collaborated with UNICEF and WASH Cluster Somalia and prepared to distribute hygiene kits to 1,000 households in Bula Burte. These hygiene kits, already stored safely in a warehouse in Bula Burte, were intended to be distributed as soon as the river floods occurred, providing immediate relief to the affected families.
The distribution aimed to address the critical need for hygiene and sanitation among the displaced populations. By ensuring access to essential hygiene materials, AFDAN sought to prevent the outbreak of waterborne diseases and improve overall health conditions in the evacuation sites. The hygiene kits included items necessary for maintaining cleanliness and personal hygiene, which are vital during displacement caused by natural disasters.
Our proactive approach in preparing and storing the hygiene kits demonstrated its commitment to quick and effective humanitarian response.
