IDP Site Verification

In March 2024, CCCM Cluster partners and local authorities collaboratively conducted an extensive IDP site verification exercise in Jowhar, adhering closely to CCCM Cluster’s Standard Operating Procedures on Site Verification. Noteworthy in this endeavor was AFDAN’s active participation alongside various stakeholders including HCRI, OCHA, IRDO, and others.

A total of 14 IDP sites were meticulously verified, revealing they accommodate 5,972 households, encompassing 35,752 individuals. Notably, compared to the previous verification in October 2023, the number of sites increased by two, accommodating 210 households (2,200 individuals).

This verification exercise not only underscores the commitment of CCCM Cluster and its partners to ensuring the welfare of displaced populations but also highlights AFDAN’s significant involvement in efforts aimed at enhancing the living conditions and security of IDPs in Jowhar.
